Jonathan Patchen co-authors article on limits of religious accommodation

Jonathan Patchen has co-authored an article “When accommodating becomes establishing” published by the Daily Journal on May 22, 2019. The article examines how a new rule promulgated by the Department of Health and Human Services violates the establishment clause of the U.S. Constitution. The rule would entitle any nonprofit or for-profit entity, whether closely held or publicly traded, to deny contraceptive coverage based on sincerely held religious beliefs.
